Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion focussess on the ups and downs of the Fashion world. Brings out the true picture of the models
who go through emotional rollercoaster of ups and downs in order to survive amidst the celebrity world. It tells about the ambition, success, downfall, backstabbing, power, glamour and everything that the models go through. It also tells that everything that glitters is not gold.
Story :
Fashion tells the tale of the lives of three models. One a supermodel Kangana Ranaut (Shonali), another established model
Mugdha Godse (Janet), and Priyanka Chopra (Meghana Mathur), who comes from a small town, Chandigarh, to make it big,
As Meghna gets sucked into the world of fashion, she becomes a victim of her own success. She loses her boyfriend Maanav (
Arjan Bajwa ), a struggling model who opened his doors to her when she had nowhere to go. She loses her good friend Janet (
Mugdha Godse ) whom she befriended as a struggler. And, above all, she loses her self-respect and her confidence after being
used and dumped by the modeling agency Panache and its owner ( Arbaaz Khan ).
Parallel to Meghna’s story is the brief tale of Shonali ( Kangana Ranaut ), a cocaine-snorting, cranky, lanky model who is a
show-stopper at fashion shows. Like Meghna, Shonali, too, has been used and dumped by the glam world. The only difference is
that Meghna bounces back after hitting the rock bottom.
Performance :
Priyanka chopra steals the show, she gave a mind blowing performance. She not only has great body and looks but is talented
too. Kangana Ranaut was brilliant in her acting skills. Mugdha Godse is energetic and did a pretty good job. Arbaaz khan was
his usuall best. Harsh was superb. Arjan Bajwa is pretty good in his performance.
Music :
Music by Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant is top notch. Perfectly blends into the atmosphere. Song 'Fashion Ka Jalwa' steals
place in the top charts. Choreography is good.
Verdict :
Madhur bhandarkar deserves a pat on his back for his excellent screen play and good execution. Dialogues were good, Camera work was excellent. Music is great. Excellent performances by the cast. In lines of his super hit Page 3, Fashion also will be one of his remarkable movie. Good Job by Madhur bhandarkar. |  |
